Chinese legend shows the history of tea beginning almost 5,000 years ago around 2737 B.C.E. when by accident renowned ruler, scientist and Emperor Shen Nong had a leaf from an overhanging wild tea tree in the garden drift into his pot of boiling water.
While that was a very long time ago the benefits of tea are irrefutable and numerous studies now show that drinking it assists in boosting your energy and immune system, aiding in digestion, regulating blood sugar, enhancing mental clarity and losing weight, while also fighting off inflammation, heart disease, cancer and more!
The main types of tea are 'true tea,' which stems directly from the leaves of the tea plant and 'herbal tea,' made with a variety of plants by infusing fruits, roots, herbs, leaves, and stems.
If you're just starting out I recommend a good green tea and if you are a tea enthusiast I'm sure you are well aware of the continued benefits of keeping this in your pantry! On top of all the benefits listed above, it contains Catechins; antioxidants that fight and may even prevent cell damage! This is huge!! With good sleep, the right exercise and good tea, just think of what you can accomplish and the advantage you can provide your body!
